Gerald Paul Carr was the commander of Skylab 4, which was the last NASA mission to visit the Skylab Orbital Workshop.  He and his pilots set the record for the longest mileage in space at 34.5 million miles.  He was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in 1997.
